Your dreaded Mondays will greatly improve with a visit to the Military Missions office where you will meet the cheerful and welcoming Charlotte Guarneros. And, whenever needed, she works other days, too! She and her husband (a retired Pastor) moved from Illinois to the Lexington area in 2018 to be closer to family. At that time, Charlotte searched for volunteer opportunities and discovered Military Missions.
Several years later, Charlotte is still on the job, because she believes strongly in the Military Missions cause, and that any project – large or small – is the least she can do for the huge sacrifices of our military personnel.
Although she was born and raised in Tennessee, we Kentucky fans will embrace her anyway! After all, she lives here now; and, prior to living in Illinois, she lived in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where she worked in an elementary school cafeteria for nine years.
In addition to her MM work, Charlotte also volunteers for Immanuel Baptist Church on Armstrong Mill, and for the Jessamine County Library where she helps with special activities, cleans CDs and Disks, and takes books to homebound individuals. When not volunteering, she loves to read, garden, work jigsaw puzzles, and spend time with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchild.
We definitely need to highlight that Charlotte and her husband are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in June! Best wishes and congratulations!
