Please do NOT address to “Veteran”. The service members receiving the cards are currently serving on active duty. The term veteran is used for those who have completed their military service.
BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR CARDS
Please DON’T:
Don’t send the envelopes
Don’t date your cards or letters
Don’t use glitter
Don’t talk about religion or politics
Don’t talk about death, wounds, or other inappropriate things
Please DO:
Be positive, upbeat, and thankful
Feel free to share a little info about yourself like hobbies, pets, etc
Talk about things happening around home like the weather, sports, etc
Let them know you are praying for them
Feel free to include your first name, city and state. It’s best to avoid giving your full address, especially for children.
Send Christmas cards only during October and November.
Send non-holiday cards year-round
